Morgan does the trick!

It was great to watch the ice cool Morgan play another sublime knock. He has no doubt a good temperament and his ability to play as late as possible was the obvious difference between him and other batsmen in the England team.

I have said this before on my blog that his game, especially against spin is reminiscent of Andy Flower minus his judgment outside the off stump which is perhaps the only area Morgan has to improve to become a test match batsman. Just like his coach he has a good temperament too.

Bangladesh's players must be feeling very dejected as they fought hard in this match. To start with, they played their allotted 50 overs and in the past they have been guilty of playing rash shots and getting bowled out before the 50th over but today Rahim and co. played sensibly. In the bowling department too both Razzack and Sakib did very well on a very slow wicket that kept low, but in the end the ice cool Morgan just stole the match away from the Bang team. Bangladesh are no more pushovers at home, but they just need a few victories under their belt as that would help them to get some self belief.

Again I would like to congratulate Morgan for his fine knock and I'm pretty sure that we are going to see many more such knocks from him.

Morgan has more power in his shots than Andy Flower.

Once Flower smashed 140 odd of not many deliveries against Ntini, Pollock, Kallis and Nel and too in a test match. It shows that he could play both type of knocks but as he played for a weak team he had to play defensively. Of course one can consider him smashing 140 odd against England and he played powerfully that day. Better bats also have to be considered.

Morgan is a fine batsman because his attitude is right. He is not Mister Fancypants, who fails time and time again. He is a worker. He knows he's got something to prove.
